Fifteen years ago designer Anya Hindmarch launched her I Am Not A Plastic Bag tote as a collaborative project with the global social movement, We Are What We Do. The campaign sparked a conversation about the 10.6 billion plastic bags used in the U.K yearly and helped drop that number to 6.1 billion over the course of several years. Years later, Anya reflects on her decade-long stance to help reduce single-use plastics and her latest campaign, I Am A Plastic Bag.

Using recycled PET plastic water bottles, Anya Hindmarch has designed her latest sustainable tote bag collection to not only ignite the conversation around plastic pollution, but also minimize it by reusing post-consumer waste. Considering the success of her last campaign to mitigate change and reduce plastic pollution among consumers, Anya shows that even small everyday changes like carrying a reusable tote can spark big changes (to the tune of 4 billion plastic bags) when we all work together and make sustainable lifestyle choices.
