Fashion month wrapped with Paris Fashion Week, closing the spring/summer 2026 calendar on a high note. With more than 15 new creative directors stepping into top roles, many of them in Paris, the season marked a major reset. Debuts from new and old designers led the conversation and set the tone for what comes next.
All year, the industry has anticipated how these shifts would show up on the runway. The first outings made things clear. Designers brought back sex appeal, injected upbeat color, and pushed a fresh preppy-bourgeois mood that is already shaping how people dress. Some stayed close to house codes. Others moved fast, staking out bold new territory. Here are the seven key trends from fashion month that define S/S 2026 you can invest in today and even wear as we head into the winter months.
1) Boho Is Here To Stay
Tassels, sarongs, and lots and lots of lace. At New York Fashion Week, designers dug into archives, not with nostalgia, but with intent. At Noe Bernacelli and Anna Sui, boho details- tassels, sarongs, lace detailing and fedoras -paid homage to 70s icons like Bianca Jagger. Designers played with these free-spirit vibes and paired them with tailored pieces. The message was clear, rethink the muses rather than recreate them.
Lean into the luxe hippie dream with a statement lace blouse or long skirt, but pair them with a tailored pant or blazer. And, don’t be afraid to embrace accessories. Stack bangles and slip on a fedora or headscarf to complete your look.
*What better place to look to the muses of old than the past itself? Be inspired by vintage and pre-loved pieces that herald the return of flowing, feminine boho luxe.
2) Sporty Spice Goes Professional
Pangaia 365 Midweight Shorts made from 100% 320 GSM organic cotton and packaged in compostable bags. $115

Sporty Spice is hear to stay. For athleisure wear fans, this is good news. Yet, similar to boho, this trend was reintroduced on the spring runways with strong tailoring that made it feel fresh. These sporty separates were styled in a way that was more suited for your co-working space than the gym. Take a cue from Miu and Miu and Loewe, who elevated polos and windbreakers with loafers and tucked sweatshirts neatly into pinafores and tailored shorts.
The same energy can show up in your fall wardrobe now. Look for sporty separates in bright shades of blues, greens, and if you dare neon yellow. Soften the sporty look with tailored separates like dress pants and shoes for a pre-2026 runway look
3) Preppy-Bourgeois, Updated

Clara Cashmere Crew Cardigan is made from 95% Recycled Cashmere and 5% Cashmere sustainably in China. $218
Prep is back with polish and wit. Rider set the tone at Celine, filtering Left Bank classics through a modern lens. Think satin neck scarves, precise trenches, and bright accessories styled for today. At Loewe, polos were layered under V-neck sweaters in high-contrast colors. Polo Ralph Lauren brought its signature prep to Paris with inventive styling, subtle color hits, and quirky fastenings. It is refined, a bit playful, and fully 2026.
4) Joyful Color
Lightness came through bright hues. At Leesle, Hwang Yi- Seul paid homage to her Korean heritage with lighter than air dresses in saturated hues of teals and reds. At Chloé, Chemena Kamali revived ‘50s florals in upbeat shades from lilac and teal to tangerine.
For fall, embrace the look with vibrant colors. Try a red polo under a canary-yellow turtleneck to set the bright tone. Or, opt for sleek dresses for night in bright oranges or red. Expect color to be central to wardrobes next year.
5) The Return of Sex Appeal

Reformation Parma Silk Dress 100% silk and made sustainably in Los Angeles. $298
Seduction took center stage at Tom Ford, where models were asked to seduce, and the clothes backed it up. There were pastel satin suits cut to reveal bras and backless gowns with slivered sleeves. Schiaparelli closed with sheer dresses finished in plush straps. At Hermès, tight leather corsetry and flashes of skin underscored a confident, sensual mood. The takeaway, sharp tailoring, fluid transparency, and strategic exposure.
6) Femininity, Reconsidered
Leesle’s show at the Global Fashion Collective highlighted powerful femininity, an exploration of archetypes and the line between dress and undress. Designers across Paris took a similar path. Givenchy leaned into sheer details on sculptural gowns. The Row pushed a new kind of elegance with couture-adjacent skirts that softened minimalism. At Christian Dior, hourglass silhouettes came adorned with oversized bows. These collections studied traditional codes of feminine dress, then flipped them with modern construction and ease.
7) Belts- The Bold & The Beautiful

The refined classics of season’s past took a backseat to wide, bold styles on the Spring / Summer runways. Chunky, coreseted styles were snug around models’ waists at Chloé and Leesle while long leather belts were wrapped around twice for a bold look at Michael Kors.
Update a beloved sweater with a hip skimming belt. Or, swap one of your classic styles for something statement piece that will have heads turning.
Paris sent a clear signal for S/S 2026. Heritage matters, but only when it sparks new ideas. Color is bold, prep is clever, and sex appeal is back with polish. How will you wear next year’s trends now?
