Jewelry is as varied and unique as the women who wear them. This season two sustainable brands- jeweler Monica Vinader and womenswear label Mother of Pearl– have collaborated on a limited edition 12-piece collection that celebrates the diversity of women’s beauty. Keishi pearls are crafted into recycled gold to create one-of-a-kind pieces that can be mixed and matched to your own individual style. And, while brand collaborations are nothing new, conscious shoppers might find this latest collaboration all the more unique being that it’s two women-led sustainable brands.
The focus on sustainability doesn’t end at the shopping cart. When you make a purchase from this collection proceeds will be donated to Choose Earth, a nonprofit that directly supports indigenous communities in their fight for environmental and social justice.

“Our goal is to avoid and reduce emissions wherever possible. By the end of 2021, we expect to have offset over 1,200 tonnes of emissions through our carbon-neutral shipments. That’s equivalent to driving 99 times around the earth or flying from London to New York 789,” Monica Vinader.

Preserving delicate ecosystems, local environments and vulnerable communities impacted by the jewelry industry, Monica Vinader has built a brand that focuses on sustainable initiatives such as responsibly sourcing raw materials and creating educational programs for the women in their workshops. That means that 100% of the gold and sterling silver used in Monica Vinader’s collections are 100% recycled metals. Diamonds are responsibly sourced to adhere to the Kimberly Process and the World Diamond Council System of Warranties. And, each piece is handcrafted in workshops that are assessed and certified by the Responsible Jewelry Council. As a designer, Monica has also collaborated with Women for Women International as an ambassador and sponsor for more than 335 12-month educational programs for women in conflict affected countries.
To further reduce their environmental impact single-use plastic is being phased out of their supply chain for sustainable alternatives like boxes and bags made from 100% recyclable FSC paper.

Since 2002 the London-based contemporary fashion house has been crafting luxurious basics from a variety of organic and natural materials like tencel and organic cotton. Customers can see the sustainable aspects of each garment and use filters that allow you to shop by what’s important to you. For instance, choose organic materials or recycled. In 2017 the brand won the prestigious BfC/ Vogue Designer Fashion Fund award that allowed Mother of Pearl to hone in on partnering with suppliers that put social responsibility at the forefront.
