It’s sad news for the world of sustainable fashion. The world’s first sustainable fashion museum, Fashion for Good is embarking on its final exhibition in June of this year. Titled “What Goes Around Comes Around,” the exhibit marks the culmination of the museum’s six-year journey and will focus on the transformative power of circular fashion and the individuals working tirelessly to shift the industry towards sustainable solutions. Opening its doors on January 27, 2024, the exhibition will be accessible to the public for five months, concluding on June 5th, World Environment Day.
Yet, while the museum may be closing its physical doors, its mission to promote sustainable practices and educate the public will continue through co-working and educational spaces.

The impact is staggering, with an estimated 14 million tons of textile waste generated in the U.S yearly, a number that continues to rise. 1. Showcasing the Present: Local Artists and Design Collectives
The exhibition features new work by local artists, such as Atelier Reservé and The Patchwork Family, who are actively contributing to the circular fashion movement. These artists represent the vibrancy and diversity of circular design practices, demonstrating what is happening right now in the industry. Additionally, established designers, including BOTTER, Ronald van der Kemp, Marga Weimans, Yuima Nakazato, and Nicole McLaughlin, will showcase their creations, highlighting the integration of circular materials into high-end fashion.
“We are highlighting three areas in What Goes Around Comes Around,” explains curator Sophie Jager-van Duren at the Fashion for Good Museum. “First: new work by local artists Atelier Reservé and The Patchwork Family, design collectives working towards circularity, demonstrating what is happening right now. We are also showing looks from established designers BOTTER, Ronald van der Kemp and Marga Weimans, Yuima Nakazato and Nicole McLaughlin. Second, the community, with an installation for visitors to participate in, planting the seed that we need each other to change the fashion system. Lastly, the industry – honing in on examples of innovations and technologies. We invited designers to create new work with circular materials including Living Ink, MIRUM, Altmat and Biophilica.”
