Certifications are one step industries are taking towards positive change. Over the years The Wellness Feed has taken a deep dive into some of these certifications that promise to hold brands accountable for being ethical and sustainable- B Corp, Climate Neutral, and the Butterfly Mark. One thing learned over the years is that obtaining these certifications is not easy. It’s a multi-month (sometimes multi-year) assessing process where supply chains are examined, company values are looked over, and scores are given along with actionable steps for improvements. When a brand obtains one of these certifications, it’s a major accomplishment. When they manage to go a step further and win an award as well, that’s something we can all get behind and celebrate.
Today, Positive Luxury, the parent company of the luxury certification Butterfly Mark, announced the sustainable luxury brand winners in each of their 7 categories who are at the “forefront of innovation taking serious, positive action” to raise to high standards across their supply change. For more than a decade, the team of sustainability experts have worked with hundreds of businesses to map, transition, and rebuild to make positive impacts through their business. Today, the companies who have excelled at raising their standards are being honored with the award.
Judged by an independent panel that represents a cross-section of experts including academics, thought-leaders and industry executives include leaders such as Glenn Mandziuk: CEO, Sustainable Hospitality Alliance, Millie Kendall OBE CEO, British Beauty Council, and Sara Kozlowski Vice President of Program Strategies Education and Sustainability Initiatives CFDA. The judges were looking for brands that demonstrate innovation, real change and higher standards. From initiatives, actions and positive impact showcasing innovation linked to materiality drivers on climate, nature and water (environment), to how workers and communities are treated (social), to how responsibly and ethically businesses are run (governance).

Jewellery & Watches Business of the Year: Monica Vinader
Not only is Monica Vinader a leading jewelry label prized for its gold pieces that have won numerous awards, it is also a leader in exploring new ways that the jewelry industry can be more sustainable and transparent. The brand partners with nonprofits such as the Blue Marine Foundation. And, they’ve created an industry-first initiative that “allows you to trace the journey of 300+ styles across their entire supply chain, from sketch, sourcing and creation – to you”.

Fashion & Accessories Business of the Year: BAV TAiLOR
Another multi-award-winning brand is the luxury label Bav Tailor. Circular design, ethical and transparent supply chains, and social contributions are just a few of the reasons that this brand has been continuously praised for its approach to fashion since its debut collection in 2013.
Beauty Business of the Year: Medik8
Beloved by dermatologists, this skincare line is also a BCorp brand that has an impact score of 89.8. Through initiatives such as measuring and reducing their CO2 emissions, removing unnecessary packaging, offering refills, and using 100% renewable energy sources, the company has made steady improvements to become a sustainable brand. They’re also committed to paying living wages and take measures to vet suppliers to ensure that they meet the proper health and ethical standards.
Interiors Business of the Year: Allect Group
Inspiring architecture and striking interiors are at the forefront of the striking designs from Allect. And as the world’s first interior design and architecture studio to be honored with the Butterfly Mark with Positive Luxury, they’ve proven to be innovators in environmental and social practices within their industry as well. Since obtaining the certification in 2023, the company has reduced their greenhouse gas emissions through initiatives that include using hydro-electric power plants and have committed to partnering with more sustainable and greener stakeholders.
Premium Drinks, Business of the Year: Canned Wine Co
The work from some of Europe’s finest winemakers are captured in these canned wines. Eschewing the need for plastic cups, these wines are perfectly portioned to be enjoyed on-the-go and recycled after you’ve enjoyed them. As a brand that is a little over 5 years old, the team has created a roadmap for customers and stakeholders to view that shares how they will preserve local biodiversity, responsibly source ingredients, ensure that all packaging is 100% recyclable, and more sustainable initiatives.

Travel Business of the Year: Six Senses
The beauty of Six Senses is how wellness is woven into their approach to nourishing guests with their tailored-made experiences and nourishing the planet. Renewable building materials are used throughout. Local habitats are preserved and restored. Plastic- from single-use water bottles to food containers- have been eliminated and replaced. Guests also have opportunities to be a part of the community through excursions with local nonprofits to help rebuild corals reefs or simply knowing that their stay is help to fund health and educational initiatives for local communities. It’s no wonder that Six Senses won two awards this year.
